Agri-Business Centre - Devon
Project Background
Permission was granted early 2013 to build a new £6 million Agri-Business Centre in Holsworthy, Devon. This new 30acre site is to replace the existing site being sold off to a major supermarket chain. The recent bad weather in the South West had an impact on the time deliverable on the project and the original specifications were reviewed to include K-Form use in all the concrete slab work.
Specification
The net floor area within the agri centre for livestock was 135 x 50 meters. The net concrete area required = 13,500m2 (internal/external).Total quantity of K-Form K135 ordered = 2800 linear meters.
The project manager reported back the following:
‘Labour time saved = 60%, as we were not laying/striking steel forms, no edge damage, and the manual handling issues that come with that. Overall programme time saving is considerable (3-4weeks) as at least 6 to 8 bays can be set up in advance, and pre-meshed/pre-earthed (livestock earthing requirement) without tying up large quantities of steel forms.
